On May 25th 2020, Derek Chauvin held his knee on the neck of George Floyd for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, resulting in Mr. Floyd’s death by mechanical asphyxia. This project is a tribute to George Floyd’s legacy.

The original idea was to keep the length of the video as an art piece at 8 minute 46 seconds, in order for the viewer to experience just how long George Floyd’s suffering was. However, the shorter version was better suited to use on mass media to communicate his legacy.
